Unable to repay the housing loan, a woman committed suicide by consuming cow dung powder, while her 12-year-old girl, is battling for her life at the hospital.

41-year-old Srimathi was upset with her engineer-husband’s unemployment and his newfound drinking habits. Due to his unemployment, he was falling back on the repayment of the house loan that she had borrowed some time back.

Upset with these, Srimathi moved out of her marital house and was living with her parents at Saibaba Colony a few days ago. Depressed over the fact that there was no improvement in their lives, Srimathi first gave the cow dung powder to her younger daughter, and consumed the remaining early in the morning today.

Srimathi’s father found them and rushed them to a private hospital. Srimathi died before the doctors could start treating her. The daughter however is recovering.
