Accusing the Sulur police for allegedly filing a fake case against her sons, based on a complaint given by AIADMK functionaries, a woman from Neelambur has petitioned the Superintendent of Police R.V. Ramya Bharathi seeking their release here on Tuesday.

According to R. Sarasvathy residing at Neelambur, both her sons R. Sathishkumar and R. Balakrishnan were arrested by the Sulur police on Sunday for having involved in a group clash.

They were remanded by the police on the same day, however, Sarasvathy claimed that it was her sons who were beaten up in the clash by ADMK functionaries. This had happened when they had questioned about the party songs that were played during a religious rally.

“They beat up my sons and another boy mercilessly and also registered a complaint,” she alleged.

She also claimed that police had arrested her sons without conducting any inquiry and had worked in favour of the ruling party.

“I request the SP to conduct a field investigation in the area and release my sons as the case registered against them is false,” she added.
