The lifeless bodies of a woman and her two-year-old son, who were reported missing for the last couple of days, were found floating in a well near Karamadai today.

35-year-old Rajeshwari had gone to her parents’ house, along with her son Saicharan, because her mother was not well for the past few days. Her parents lived close to her marital home. But both Rajeshwari and her son were missing for the last three days. A complaint was filed at the Karamadai police station, after which a search was launched.

In the morning today, farm labourers noticed the bodies floating in the well of a farm located near her house. The police were informed, who retrieved the bodies and sent them to the Government Hospital in Mettupalayam.

Although suicide is suspected, the reasons have not yet been found.
