Is Sundeep Kishan playing the lead role in Uday Kiran biopic? Maanagaram actor answers

Sundeep Kishan is fresh off from the release of his latest film, Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. The film, directed by Nageswara Reddy, turned out to be an average grosser at the box office. For the past couple of days, rumours are rife that Sundeep has been roped in to play Uday Kiran in his biopic.

Several reports suggested Sundeep will play Uday Kiran in the biopic, which will be directed by a newcomer. However, the Maanagaram actor released a statement rubbishing the rumours. He stated that no one has approached him for the Uday Kiran biopic.

The statement read, “Numerous rumours are being heard about Uday Kiran’s biopic in the last couple of days. Here is to clarify the media & people, no one has approached us regarding this & right now we have no intention of doing biopics. Thank you.”

Telugu actor Uday Kiran was a promising talent in Tollywood and he had three releases in Tamil as well. However, he committed suicide in 2014 due to unknown reasons.

Uday Kiran was in the headlines when his engagement with Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmitha broke in 2003. Later, he got married to Tamil speaking girl Vishitha on October 24, 2012. For a couple of years now, news about a biopic being made on his life are doing the rounds.

On the work front, Sundeep is now getting ready for the release of his next flick, A1 Express. Apart from this film, he also has two Tamil films, Naragasooran and Kasada Thapara at different stages of production.
