Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is eagerly waiting for her maiden South film, Saaho to hit the screens. The spy-thriller, directed by Sujeeth stars Prabhas, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Lal, Mandira Bedi and Chunky Pandey in prominent roles.

On June 13, the makers of Saaho released the teaser, which received an overwhelming response from the audience. In just 24 hours, the teaser has clocked in over 60 million views on YouTube in all languages. The film’s teaser revealed that Shraddha plays a cop in the movie.

In a recent media interaction, she opened up about her role in Saaho. “I am super-excited to play the role of a cop for the first time. It’s such a privilege. The police do so much for the country, it’s an honour for me to represent them. Essaying a police officer is a special one because you are representing such an integral part of the security force of our country. It feels awesome to be playing one,” she was quoted as saying in an entertainment portal.

The teaser also revealed that Shraddha gets to display her shooting skills with her pistol. In fact, a synchronised gunfight sequence featuring her and Prabhas is one of the highlights of the teaser.

Opening up about carrying a pistol in the film, she revealed, “Throughout the shoot, I got so comfortable holding the gun that it almost started feeling like an extension of my body. On set, if I didn’t have my weapon with me, I would always enquire about it. The fact that you have to use it responsibly was another thing and it’s amazing that a police officer’s mind is so sharp in terms of how they need to use the gun and in what situations.”

Shraddha is thrilled about the release of Saaho, which is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 15, 2019. The film, produced by UV Creations, is made on a huge budget of Rs 250 to Rs 300 crore.
