The Tamil Nadu government has allowed for theatres in the state to operate with 100 per cent occupancy ahead of the big-ticketed Pongal releases – Vijay’s Master and STR’s Easwaran. Earlier, the theatres were functioning with 50 per cent occupancy. Actor Vijay had met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and requested that Master open with 100 per cent occupancy.

Kerala is also opening cine halls from tomorrow (January 5) and this is advantage Master as Vijay films receive quite the reception in the neighbouring state.

Master is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and also features Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Master Mahendran, Arjun Das and others in pivotal roles. Anirudh scores music.

Easwaran, touted to be a village drama, is directed by Suseendhiran and has Nidhi Agerwal as the leading lady. S Thaman scores music.

Master releases on January 13 and Easwaran hits screens on January 14.
