Gaja landslides in Idukki, farmlands flooded

Cyclone Gaja has caused landslides in Idukki district of Kerala which witnessed heavy loss after the flood in August.

Thattekanni area in Neriyamangalam witnessed landslide today though no casualties were reported.

Roads were completely covered with slush, affecting movement of people and traffic. Canals were overflowing and farmlands flooded as heavy rain continued in various parts, especially Konnathady and Rajakkad, of the district. Fire Force is battling with the situation.

Cyclone Gaja entered Kerala this morning from the Bay of Bengal after passing through Tamil Nadu.
