Hima Das first-ever Unicef youth ambassador

Hima Das, the Indian sprint runner nicknamed the ‘Dhing Express’ from Assam has been appointed as the first ever Youth Ambassador of UNICEF India which works for the betterment of children.

Hima’s name was officially announced by the world organisation through twitter on Wednesday evening coinciding with the Children’s Day celebrations..

“I am honoured to be chosen as Unicef India’s Youth Ambassador, and I hope I will be able to inspire more children to follow their dreams,” Hima Das responded.

Hima had clinched a gold medal in women’s 4X400-metre relay at the 2018 Asian Games and also won a silver medal in 400m race.
