Bihar is a glorious and historical state of India. It has many such tourist spots that people will love to explore, but they are not known to everyone. Bodhgaya

The first and the most popular destination in Bihar is the holy land of Bodhgaya. As we all know that it was the state of Bihar, then Patliputra where Lord Buddha began his enlightenment journey and achieved Nirvana too. So, in the whole world, the most popular and the biggest Buddhist pilgrimage is in Bodhgaya, one of the cities in Bihar. The most popular center of attraction of this place is the Mahabodhi Temple. This temple has been now declared as the world heritage site from UNESCO. There are other temples also and you will notice the Buddhist architecture everywhere. Apart from this, in Bodhgaya, you can enjoy amazing ranges of Thai food as there are many restaurants that offer the Thai cuisines.

Nalanda

The second one in the list is the historic town of Nalanda. If you have the least interest in history and have read about this place in a brief also, then you will love coming here. The place will make you feel as if you are not in India and is in some other country. One can spot a lot of foreign tourists moving here and there. The town of Nalanda is popular for the ruins of ancient Nalanda University. The ruins are still there and the guide will tell you about each and every detail very beautifully. Munger

Third in the list is the city of Munger. This town is popular for both spiritual and historical reasons. This place is called “Yognagri” as one of the biggest schools of yoga, “Bihar school of yoga” is set up in this town. This place is so popular that it is occupied mostly to the foreign students who come to learn yoga here. Many famous personalities like Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam has visited this place for the programs being organized by the school authorities. When you will enter the city, you will see some of the ruins of the old forts, which was once called “Raja Ji ka kila”. This city is located on the bank of river Ganges and one of the most popular ghats is the Kashtharni ghats, which is quite a beautiful place. Apart from this, there is a Jal Mandir that is the temple of Lord Shiva, but it is the exact replica of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, or you can say a shorter version of it.

Rajgir

Another tourist attraction in the state of Bihar is the famous city of Rajgir. This place is popular as Gautam Buddha got Nirvana here. The most attractive spot here is the Vulture’s peak on the top of which the Vishwa Shanti Stupa is located. One can reach there by going on foot or through the ropeway. You can spend 2-3 days time in exploring the area nearby. Now, some really good resorts are open here for the tourists to stay.
