Fans of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar were left fuming following Cricket Australia’s post wishing Australian cricketer Damien Fleming on his birthday. Both Sachin and Damien share birthdays on April 24.

Cricket Australia posted a video on Twitter which showed Damien getting Sachin’s wicket. The tweet said, “some @bowlogist gold from the man himself – happy birthday, Damien Fleming!”

The video clip showed Fleming bowling Tendulkar during an ODI in Perth during the 2000 Carlton & United Series. The video that went viral within a few minutes, evoked mixed responses on Twitter. While Tendulkar’s fans fumed over the insult meted out to him especially on his birthday, a few others claimed it was just a coincidence.

“No matter how many bans, Australians will never change… On Sachin’s Birthday you are posting a video how Damien Fleming bowled him.
Couldn’t you find another batsman instead of Sachin? # Happy BirthdaySachin” read a post by one Shashank, a Tendulkar fan.

“Probability of them picking Sachin as Flemings wicket on Sachin’s birthday too can’t be a coincidence… I bet they knew it but might have felt as interesting to post…wasnt necessary…” tweeted another fan Fazal Sheik.

Nikhil Desai tweeted: “Shame on CA….instead of setting a good example you do the opposite. We now know where the Aussies learn their Sledging….it comes right from the TOP.”

At the same time, Australian fans claimed that they never knew it was Tendulkar’s birthday too. Replying to iShhhshank, Paul Dennett tweeted: “I bet when they sent the tweet the people who run CA’s Twitter wouldn’t have known It’s Tendulkar’s birthday today.”

“I can’t believe all the Indian fans are offended by this! Here is a bridge to get over for you,” James Munro, another fan, mentioned in his tweet.
