Snapchat, the photo-messaging app, has reportedly rolled out its first ever “Lens” which reacts to sound. “It’s a cute animal mask overlay for your face, with ears that pulse and glows, and eyes that move based on the sounds it hears. Snapchat says it’s just the first of many,” reported Engadget late on Monday.Snapchat’s Lenses is one of the app’s face filters feature which comes with two options, Face Lenses and World Lenses.

While Face Lenses allows the users to turn images into something different along with voice changes, World Lenses lets users recreate as well as reimagine the surroundings around them whiling letting them bring characters to life.Snapchat announced its “Lens Studio” software, earlier in April, to allow users to create 2D as well as 3D Augmented Reality (AR)-based selfie lenses along with unlocking new filters created by other Snapchat users and artists.

Snapchat Inc is reportedly planning to launch some more “Lenses” which will react to sounds over the coming weeks.On the other hand, Snapchat has recently announced the Snap Map feature through which you can share your live-location with one of your friends through the Snapchat app. However, the new location feature only works when both the one who is requesting the location and the one who is sharing the location are following each other on Snapchat.You can access the Snap Map feature by long pressing on your friend’s name or by tapping on the hamburger menu which is present in the chat thread.

There you will find various new buttons with an option of either sending the location or requesting for one after which the map with that particular information will appear in your private conversation.
