Bishop Franco Mulakkal, arrested in Kerala nun rape case, gets bail

Bishop Franco Mulakkal, a Catholic priest who was arrested last month in a rape case, has been granted bail by the Kerala High Court.
The conditions of his bail: He can’t enter Kerala except for complying with bail conditions, and needs to report to an investigating officer once in two weeks. He also needs to surrender his passport.
Franco Mulakkal, 54, allegedly raped a nun multiple times during official visits to Kerala. He denies the charges.
Mulakkal has been relieved of his duties at the Jalandhar Diocese.
