Taking a selfie proved fatal for a 23-year-old teacher, who died after a bullet was accidentally fired from a loaded pistol by his teenager cousin while clicking a picture on his mobile phone. The incident took place in South-East Delhis Sarita Vihar area on Thursday evening.

The deceased, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, had come to his cousins house in Sarita Vihar when the two decided to take a selfie holding a loaded pistol that belongs to the minor boys father.

The teenager was apprehended and a case was registered against him at the Sarita Vihar police station, said Chinmoy Biswal, the deputy commissioner of police (southeast). Biswal said that action will be taken against the father for letting his minor son use the loaded licensed gun. It is yet to be established whether the death was accidental or planned, he said.
