After rolling out the red carpet for Israeli Prime Minister in Delhi, Narendra Modi is taking “friend” Benjamin Netanyahu to his home state Gujarat today.

Much like the roadshow organised during Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit in September last year, Israeli PM Netanyahu, wife Sara along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in a mega roadshow from the airport to Sabarmati Ashram.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ISRAEL PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU’S VISIT TO MODI’S GUJARAT:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu will arrive at the Ahmedabad airport at 10.15 am today.

The two leaders will travel to Sabarmati Ashram in an open jeep and meet people along the way. The 14-km road show is likely to be attended by more than 50,000 people.

No less than 50 stages have up set up along the route. Artists from 22 states will showcase their traditional art and dance forms on these stages.

At Sabarmati Ashram, Benjamin Netanyahu and wife Sara will pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gift a copy of Gandhi’s autobiography ‘My Experiments with Truth’ to Netanyahu.

At the ashram, the two leaders will also try their hands on the charkha and visit an exhibition.

In Ahmedabad, Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu will inaugurate an iCreate Centre at Deo Dholera village. The two leaders will also visit a start-up exhibition and interact with innovators and startup CEOs.

Narendra Modi and Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu will dedicate a mobile water desalination van to Suigam taluka of Banaskantha district through a video link. An address to the gathering is also on the itinerary.

The two leaders will also visit the Centre of Excellence for Vegetables at Vadrad in Sabarkantha district. Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu will inaugurate a Centre for Excellence for date palms at Kukama through a video link and follow it with an interaction with farmers.

Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu will then head back to the airport and fly back in the evening.

This Gujarat visit of the Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu will focus on agriculture, irrigation, innovation and enterprise.
