After being pronounced guilty in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case by a Jodhpur court on Thursday, Bollywood actor Salman Khan spent the night in the Jodhpur Central Jail and how.

After a thorough medical check-up, the actor was given a blanket and allotted ward number 2 to spend the night. Sitting alone in his barrack, Salman Khan or prisoner number 106 had dal, roti, cabbage and some potatoes.

It is learnt that the Dabangg actor went for a stroll outside his barrack around 12:30 am before retiring for the night.

According to DIG Jodhpur (Jail) Vikram Singh, Salman Khan made no special demands for his stay and had his first meal of the day inside the prison itself. The Bollywood icon wore his clothes inside the premises and will be given the prison uniform today.

With his bail plea scheduled for hearing for 10:30 am today, Salman Khan is believed to have woken up by 6:30 am today. He refused to have porridge (daliya) for breakfast but ordered bread and milk later from the canteen. Khan’s family had deposited Rs 400 with the prison canteen a day earlier.

According to DIG Vikram Singh, multiple-level security was deployed outside Salman Khan’s ward at the night.

Salman Khan was convicted of poaching two blackbucks on the intervening night of October 1-2, 1998 in Kankani village near Rajasthan’s Jodhpur city. The actor has been awarded a five year jail term, in addition to a fine of Rs 10,000.

If the actor’s bail plea is rejected by the Sessions Court today then his lawyers are expected to approach the Rajasthan High Court.
