Chennai: Hardly 24 hours after the two AIADMK factions merged, 19 ruling party legislators supporting sidelined leader Dhinakaran, met Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao this morning and submitted a memorandum for removal of the Chief Minister.

Dhinakaran loyalist Thangathamizh Chelvan claimed that he and 18 other legislators met the Governor around 10 am and submitted a letter seeking steps to change Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

He said he wonderd how Palaniswami could support the Panneerselvam faction which had only 10 MLAs. “He (Palaniswami) should have consulted our party deputy secretary Dhinakaran for merger with the OPS group,” Thangathamizh Chelvan added.

Dinakaran faction, upset over isolation by the merged entity, is considering moving the court against the merger.
Earlier, Dhinakran tweeted: “god only knows how long the government will survive.”
