Avinashilingam University celebrates Azadi-70

As per the directive of the Minister for Human Resource Development, Azadi-70 was observed at the Avinashilingam University for Women today. More than 2,000 NSS volunteers and 150 NCC cadets participated in the candle light march tonight.

As part of the ‘Yaadh Karo Qurbani’ of AZADI – 70, the sacrifices of National Freedom Fighters, the function paid tributes to Dr. T.S. Avinashilingam, the Founder and the First Chancellor, and Dr.Rajammal P. Devadas, the First Vice Chancellor of the varsity.

The march was flagged off and observance was presided over by the University vice-chancellor, Dr. Premavathy Vijayan, in the presence of the deans of various faculties, NSS programme coordinator, Programme Officers, and NCC officers.
