“Coimbatore Corporation is leaving no stone unturned to lead this time in Swachh Survekshan 2017 and is making sure that every citizen becomes a part of this massive event,” said K Vijayakarthikeyan, Corporation Commissioner.

The Corporation is inviting school students to become interns and volunteers to provide support in awareness creation, data collection and documentation in different parts of the city from 25 December 2016 to 15 January 2017.

A contest named ‘Swachh Survekshan Student Contest 2017’ has been launched for students and schools to make people aware about Swachh Survekshan and download the Swachhata app. Awards will be given under three categories – Swachh Student Ambassador Award, Swachhata Torch Bearer Award and Swachhata School Campaign trophies.

In addition to the above initiative to make people aware about Swachh Survekshan, 40 mini trucks decked with Swachh Survekshan flex-boards were flagged off by the Commissioner in the presence of Deputy Commissioner P Gandhimathi today.

The trucks will go around the city to create awareness among the people about the Swachh Survekshan and Swachata schemes of the Central Government.
