Coimbatore: Grand Free Medical Camp by Isha Benefits Hundreds of Villagers in Coimbatore

Gearing up to commemorate World Diabetes Day, Isha Arogya Alai conducted a free multidisciplinary medical camp in which hundreds of villagers participated. World Diabetes Day is observed on November 14. As a run-up to that day, Isha Arogya Alai plans to conduct free medical camps in the districts of Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Nilgiris, and Villupuram from October 29 to the end of November.

Following this, yesterday (Nov 4), a huge free multidisciplinary medical camp was held at Isha Village Hospital located in the Muttatthuyal area of Coimbatore from 9 AM to 1 PM. The villagers who participated in this had various medical tests related to diabetes for free. In particular, blood sugar test, kidney test, eye retina test, foot nerve test, etc., were provided free of charge. Also, not only general medicine but also specialist doctors provided separate consultations for neurology, eye, skin, dental, and women’s welfare.

In this camp, 52 people underwent menstrual, uterine, and infertility-related tests, 94 people underwent a general medical check-up, 45 people underwent a dental check-up, 40 people underwent a diabetes check-up, 35 people underwent a nerve check-up, and 84 people underwent a diabetes-related eye check-up. Also, the participants of the camp were given free herbal saplings with medicinal properties and medicines needed for three months.

Thondamuthur Farmers Producers Company, Chozha Group, Rao Hospital, Aravind Eye Hospital, and Muttatthuyal Isha Volunteers jointly organized this camp. Similarly, another free multidisciplinary medical camp is scheduled to be held in the Kurkalpatti area of Salem on November 7.
