Emission check: Rs. 42,000 fine collected

Police conducted a two-day emission check on various vehicles in the City on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to a press release from the City Police, they conducted two-day special checks on emission of carbon dioxide from vehicles. A total of Rs. 42,300 fine was collected from owners of vehicles that emitted too much smoke.

The check would continue in the future as well.

Meanwhile, Coimbatore has been selected as the less polluted city in Tamil Nadu.
