IT raids TN Chief Secretary’s residence

Chennai: Authorities of the Income Tax (IT) department conducted a raid at the residence of Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary P Rama Mohana Rao on Wednesday.

Sources from the IT department said that the raids, which started early in the morning, were conducted at 10 places including the posh residence of Rao at Anna Nagar in the city.

The raid comes against the backdrop of a statement made by J Shekhar Reddy, a businessmen and contractor who executed several works for the Tamil Nadu government recently, and accused of possessing more than 100 kgs of gold and more than Rs. 30 crore in the new Rs. 2,000 denomination notes.
