Law students lay siege to HPO

More than 100 students of the Government Law college, Coimbatore laid siege to the head post office on Friday, demanding an ordinance to facilitate Jallikattu. The students, who went in a procession to the post office, laid siege it following which its functioning was affected.

After spending a night in front of the post office, the students continued with their siege at 7 a.m . “We spent a night on the road side and good Samaritans distributed food and water. We will continue our protest, till we get the good news on ordinance,” Peer Mohammed, the coordinator of the protest, told Covai Post.

“We have staged our protest in front of the HPO to convey our message to the Central Government, that enlisted bull in the performing animals list, leading to the ban on the bull- taming sport,” the students said.
