Coimbatore : With the Left parties losing their rule and grounds in their bastion in Tripura, it was high time they made an introspection and restructured the ideology suitable to prevailing societal situation, Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) president E R Eswaran suggested today.

There was no second opinion that the ideology of Communist Party, which fought for the basic rights of labourers, prevailed some 50 to 60 years ago and the situation was totally different now and the party should restructure the ideology, Easwaran said in a statement here.

With the change in social fabric, the 50-year-old ideology was not suitable now and a situation had arisen that industries and owners were trying to retain the workers, in view of non-availability of necessary manpower in the country, he said.

Since the services of Communist party were necessary for the nation, it had to attempt and consider reframing policies, based on the needs of the people, he said.
