LG sponsors 1,000 free eye surgeries jointly with Sankara Hospitals

COIMBATORE: City-based Sankara Eye Hospitals and LG Electronics have jointly sponsored 1,000 free surgeries for the visually challenged.

LG has invited the entire nation to come forward and pledge to donate their eyes for this noble cause. Termed ‘Karein Roshini’, the company is sponsoring 1,000 free eye surgeries this year alone.

“We really appreciate this fine gesture from a reputed brand like LG that has a pan-India reach. The concept of Gift a Vision from LG is one which will set an example for other corporates to follow,” Founder and Managing Trustee of Sankara Eye Hospital,” Dr. R.V. Ramani said in a statement.

“The surgeries coupled with citizen’s pledges to donate their eyes have set momentum for a larger change for this humanitarian cause in our country,” he said.

“ LG’s core value as a company is to make people’s life good not only via consumer centric products selling but also contributing to the society to improve lifestyles of people,” Head Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics, Amit Gujral said.
