The Cook Off event saw 14 teams from within and outside Coimbatore battling it out in a Master Chef-style cooking competition, jointly organised by the Chef Extraordinaire catering team and Department of Catering Science and Hotel Management of PSG College of Arts and Science at the college premises here on Saturday.

The second edition of the competition saw 28 ‘chefs’ compete in three rounds: exotic cooking, mystery basket and baker’s challenge. “While the participants would have to do a Mexican dish in the first round, they would have to choose from barely 14 ingredients provided for the second round and bake a sweet or savoury in the third round, all in three hours,” said Madhu Wadhwa, home caterer and organiser of the contest.

The dishes were judged by Sujani Balaji from Karamella Bakers and Ranjana Singhal from On the Go restaurant chain and Magesh, a Taj Vivanta chef.
