Panic at airport as a car catches fire

Coimbatore : Panic gripped at the City Airport Monday when a taxi went into flames, some minutes after the driver parked it after alighting the passenger.

According to police, the taxi driver, Rajesh dropped the passenger at the parking bay and stood at a distance for shade. Suddenly the vehicle thick smoke started emanating from the car and within a few seconds went into flames, even Rajesh tried to go near the car, they said.

The fire and rescue personnel at the airport rushed and managed to douse the fire, even all the vehicles in the vicinity moved to safer places.
