The people of Gandhi colony, Chettipalayam in Perur handed over a petition to the collector requesting clean drainage at Anganwadi.

In the petition, M. Renuga, a resident of the locality said that the drainage at Anganwadi in Chettipalayam was poorly maintained. The anganwadi where several children studied was surrounded by sewage water breeding, insects, worms and mosquitoes.

The foul smell emanating from the open sewer is spreading infection to children whose immunity levels are low . “We are struggling because the drainage water overflows. The councilor has not taken any action against our complaints . Hence we have submitted a petition to the collector regarding the issue. Further we have also submitted a petition requesting to shift Anganwadi.”, she said.
