Students protest against poor quality food in hostel

Protesting against the quality of food being served in the Girl’s hostel, over 150 students of Government Arts and Science college today staged a demonstration, by squatting at the college entrance.
Raising slogans against the college administration, the students said that the quality of food was very poor and was being served in unhygienic condition, leading to frequent health problems.
Moreover, the breakfast was being served very late and most of the times they had to skip it as they were in a hurry to go to the classes, police said.
To top it all, the conditions of toilets were very pathetic.
The college principal, Jayalakshmi, however convinced the students and assured to take up the matter with the management, after which they dispersed,police added.
