3 Things To Not Do When You Are Getting Over Someone

When you are going through a break up, one of the hardest things to do is cutting all ties with your ex and getting on with your life. Moving on isn’t a choice, it is something that we have to do for our mental health no matter what. Not only do you have to give time and space to yourself, you also have to eventually open yourself up to meeting new people. So to expedite the process of getting over the ex, there are some things you should just not do. Here are some of those.

Don’t call them up repeatedly

Tempting as that may sound, do not find reasons to call up and get in touch with the ex again and again. That you will miss them is a fact, but it is a fact that you must deal with and slowly change. Delete their number if it helps; block them off social media – do whatever it takes to not reach out to them.

Don’t moon over old memories

While you have to grieve and also give the process it’s due time, you must try and move forward and not be stuck in the past. Once in a while, the memories might get the better of you. But you have to consciously make an effort to not obsess over them and what you once shared.

Don’t feed the bad thoughts

Many of us have a tendency to wallow in our sadness; we listen to sad songs, repeatedly talk about our breakup, and also keep thinking about exactly what went wrong. It is all very fruitless because it not only keeps us from moving on but also keeps us in a vicious spiral.
