Bengaluru: Rashid Malbari, underworld’s big boss and close aide of world’s most wanted don Dawood Ibrahim, is currently hiding in Pakistan, sources said. Malabari is also called in several names as Rashid Hussain Sheikh, @Rshid [email protected] Double, big boss, Nayak and Narayan.
According to intelligence sources he is now with Dawood Ibrahim and monitoring the underworld activities of Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and Maharashtra. He is regularly visiting Nepal, Malaysia and Gulf countries, especially Dubai, the sources said.
He is still sticked to the plan of attacking some Indian politicians, said the sources, adding that now he is being scanned by the red ‘eye’ of international police – Interpol Recently the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), through it’s interpol wing issued a Red Corner Notice against the underworld don.
It is said that Karnataka police have gathered enough evidences about his involvement in various crimes in coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and other areas.
Rashid Malbari, who was under prosecution for several cases like illegal possession of arms, threat, extortion, and murder, has evaded surveillance and gone underground after he was granted conditional bail in July 2014.
Malbari was released after he was granted conditional bail by a Bengaluru city court on July 21, 2014. He was slapped with charges of murder and illegal possession of fire arms under the Arms Act in a crime that took place at KG Halli, Bangalore.
He was also granted bail by the JMFC court, Mangalore, sources said. Malbari earlier escpaed from India in 1998. Later rumours were spread of his death due to an underworld clash in Gulf countries.
However, Mangalore police arrested him in 2009 with four of his accomplices who allegedly hatched a conspiracy to kidnap a prominent person from Udupi for a ransom and also to assassinate some prominent personalities in the country during the run up to Lok Sabha polls. After the arrest, he revealed explosive information about planning to kill veteran BJP leaders.
