Kochi: Actor Dileep’s fourth attempt to get bail failed today when the Judicial First Class Magistrate’s court at Angamali rejected his plea in the actor abuse case.

Kerala High Court had rejected bail two twice and the magistrate court had done so on an earlier occasion too.

Counsel for Dileep argued that the main charge against him was to make attempts to get obscene photos of the victim. Since the prosecution has already completed probe, there was no need for him to remain in jail.

On the other hand, prosecution submitted that Dileep had contacted actor and playback singer Remya Nambeesan on the night of February 17 when the popular actor was abducted and abused in a moving vehicle.

Dileep had called many others until 12:30 am.

The victim was on her way to Remya’s house when she was kidnapped.

Remya, who is a close friend of the victim, had hailed the police for arresting Dileep describing it as ‘historic’ moment.
Remya was also questioned by the police in the initial stage of investigation.

Dileep was arrested by police on July 10, a week after questioning him for 13 hours in connection with abduction and abuse of the popular South Indian actor.

Dileep, housed at Aluva sub jail in Ernakulam, had applied for bail for the fourth time.

The case relates to the abduction and abuse of a popular south Indian actor in a vehicle on February 17 near Ernakulam. Prime accused Pulsar Suni and his accomplice Vigeesh went underground and were arrested on February 23 after staging an unsuccessful bid to surrender before a court in Ernakualm.

Four others, including driver of the vehicle Martin, were arrested earlier.
