Fifty year old man arrested for sexually abusing minor in cinema theatre

Kochi: Moitheenkutty, 50, of Thrithala in Thrissur was today arrested for sexually abusing a minor in a cinema theatre in Malappuram last month.

The theatre promoters has lodged a complaint about the incident that took place on April 18 but was ignored by the police. As the matter came in public domain through media, police wasted no time to arrest him.

He was arrested when he landed to secure anticipatory bail in Shornur. Meanwhile, State Human Rights Commission has ruled action against police for not acting against the accused.

The commission directed Malappuram SP to probe the matter and submit a report in three weeks.

Commission Chairman P Mohandas also sought action against the woman who had brought the girl to the theatre where she was abused by the accused.
