ISL off to a colourful start

Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif presented a dazzling performance at the inauguration of the Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Friday.

The presence of Malayalam superstar Mamootty proved to be the icing on the cake for the football fans.

The ISL got underway in the presence of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly (owners of Kerala Blasters and Atletico de Kolkata respectively). Later they were joined by Anjali Tendulkar and Nita Ambani, founder of ISL and Chairperson of Football Sports Development Ltd on the field.
ATK are the defending champions as they defeated Kerala Blasters in the final through penalties last year.

The finals will be held on March 17, 2018 in Kolkata.
Teams vying for this years championship are ATK, Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, Goa, Jamshedpur, Mumbai City, Pune City, North East United, Delhi Dynamos and Kerala Blasters.
