Kottayam: Division in CPM’s state leadership came to the fore with the party secretariat and the state committee taking diverse stands on the Governor summoning Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over law and issues, mainly Thiruvananthapuram.

The CPM state committee flayed the Governor for summoning the Chief Minister and felt he was dancing to the tunes of BJP-led Central Government.

The governor calling the Director General of Police was also unprecedented, it said and expressed surprise over the Governor issuing a press release after meeting the Chief Minister and the DGP.

This was in sharp contradiction to the party State secretariat stand which described the meeting a non-issue which said there was nothing wrong in summoning the Chief Minister.

The state capital had witnessed a series of BJP-CPM violence which culminated in the murder of an RSS activist.
