Narrow escape for passengers at Kozhikode airport

Kochi: Sixty passengers and crew aboard a flight had a miraculous escape when the aircraft veered off the runway and came to halt due to slushy ground at Kozhikode international airport on Friday.
The SpiceJet plane from Bengaluru to Kozhikode lost track of the runway as soon as it landed and rammed the night landing lamps on the left side of the runway, airport sources said.
Emergency services, including fire and rescue, swung into action and evicted the passengers and the crew safely. There was no damage to the aircraft.
A preliminary investigation was conducted on the basis of information from pilots.
