Sasikumar murder: Saddam Hussain back in Salem jail

After being in police custody for five days, Saddam Hussain, one of the accused in the murder of Hindu Munnani spokesman was produced before the court. Saddam was sent back to Salem Central Jail today.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court here had allowed CB-CID to take Saddam for five days for interrogation.
Saddam was arrested on August 1, in connection with the murder of Sasikumar in September last year and was sent to judicial custody the next day till August 16.

On appeal made by police, CJM Maduraseakharan, had allowed police to take Saddam for interrogation for five days and asked to produce on August 9.

Accordingly, Saddam was produced before the First Judicial Magistrate (in-charge), Nambirajan, who ordered that he (Saddam) be sent back to jail.

Police are on the lookout for Mubarak, another accused.
