The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has spelt out its goal to make India a Guru (leader) to the entire world, and
not a mere super power.

At a meeting of over 4,000 activists during the Bashti Shakti Sangamam here last night, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said his organisation wanted India to become the world leader, making it stronger through unity.

Narrating the history of the erstwhile USSR, Bhagawat said the then super power collapsed and disintegrated and the RSS did not want India to be a super power like that, but a `strong world leader’.

The organisation said in a statement quoting Bhagawath that it was not a political organization and was also not participating in day-to-day political activities, but some workers, who were involved many other projects, were involved in politics too.

Despite diversity like religion, caste, creed and food habits, the country was always united and had remained one and never attacked anyone, since time immemorial, he said. The country had spread the tradition and cultural values across the globe.

“Unity is strength and by making India stronger through unity, the entire world will look up and listen to India,” he said adding that this was what RSS wanted to achieve.

He said that the organization workers, without any government support, had taken up 1.7 lakh projects across the country, covering even hilly terrains.
