Seeking to exempt Tamil Nadu students from NEET, around 50 workers of Tamil Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam today staged a demonstration in the city.

Raising slogans in support of their demand, the workers wanted both the Centre and State governments to find immediate solution to the issue and exempt the State from NEET.

The founder-president of Kazhagam, John Pandian, told reporters that the students from rural areas, particularly poor will be seriously affected due to NEET and taking into account of their future, the governments should take steps to exempt Tamil Nadu.

The factional feud and struggle for power by three groups – Chief Minister, Edappadi Palanisamy, O. Paneerselvam and T.T.V Dinakaran – has affected the administration and people are affected by this, he said.

There should be an end to this soon, Pandian said.
