Police nod to install 390 Ganesha idols

The city police will allow installation of 390 Ganesha idols by different Hindu organisations from August 25 to 29, according to authorities.
A statement said Hindu Munnani has been allowed 169, Hindu Makkal Katchi (Tamilagam) 36, Hanuman Sena 36, Bharat Sena 23, Bharat Sena Hindu Makkal Munnani 6, SivaSena 22, BJP 11, VHP 25, Sri Vivekanandhar Peravai 16, Vivekanandhar Makkal Iyakkam 2, Tamilnadu Ramar Sena 6, Tamilnadu VHP 2 and general public 36.
The dates and places for immersion too have been announced.
August 25 – 2 idols to be immerses at Singanallur and Kuruchi Kulam.
August 27 – 72 at Kuruchi Kulam, 25 at Kuniamuthur kulam, 4 at Muthannan Kulam RS Puram, 32 at Singanallur Kulam, 3 at Sulur Kulam, 12 at Vellakinar Kulam, 3 at Perur Sengulam, 1 at Walayar Dam and 2 at private well.
August 28 – 1 at Ukkadam Periya Kulam
August 29 – 229 at Muthannan Kulam RS Puram and 2 at Perur Sengulam.
August 30 – 1 at Muthannan Kulam and 1 at Sengulam.
