30 dengue cases in CMCH

Thirty people are undergoing treatment for dengue fever in special wards and 140 for fever in normal wards in Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).

The 140 admitted for fever are undergoing various blood tests. If detected with dengue or any other flu, the patient will they be transferred to special wards for 24X7 monitoring, hospital sources said.

In the wake of rising patient numbers, health department authorities are organising awareness campaigns and taking steps to check the spread.

Corporation officials said there were regular visits to monitor the issue. Hot spots were being identified in the city and steps taken to control dengue spread, they added.
