15 hurt as lorry rams van near Madukkarai

Fifteen people were injured when a container lorry rammed a van on L&T Bypass Road near Madukkarai area at 10 am today. No casualties were reported and 10 of the injured discharged after being given first aid. The remaining have been admitted to hospital.

According to police, the lorry laden with cars for proceeding to Kochi from Bengaluru and the van had 25 passengers proceeding to Kinathukadavu area to attend a funeral. Owing to heavy rain, the lorry skid and rammed the van while crossing the bypass road near Palathurai.

Madukkarai police filed a case and investigation is on.
