IOC completes 100 percent retail automation in Covai, Tirupur

All the 53 Indian Oil retail outlets under the Coimbatore and Tirupur Municipal Corporation limits were declared fully automated today.

Automation will enable the customers to get automated billing. The system provides for online price change and quicker services. It also ensures quick and effective customer grievance redressal due to availability of records for each transaction.

The launch was celebrated at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore. Chairman IndianOil, B. Ashok; U.V. Mannur, Executive Direction, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry; .D. K. Sharma, Executive Director (Retail Sales), Head Office; G. Ramkumar, Executive Director (Automation), Head Office; M.D Kumar, General Manager (Retail Development), Head Office; V.M. Sasidhar, General Manager (Engineering), TNSO; D.L. Pramodh, General Manager (Retail Sales), TNSO; dealers, and senior officials were also present at the launch.

It was from this remote location that this technology was officially incorporated in three Indian Oil retail outlets located in Coimbatore and Tirupur city by the Chairman, B. Ashok. Other cities in Tamil Nadu like Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Salem are in the process of getting 100 percent automated.

“Of the 24405 retail outlets under IndianOil, a total 7687 outlets have been automated as of April 2015. When the total industry is taken into consideration, out of 53,419 retail outlets, which include both public sector OMCs, and private OMCs, a total of 15,957 retail outlets have been automated,” B. Ashok said.
