For sure, justice for Anitha is building up as another Jallikattu moment. Students are protesting all over Tamil Nadu demanding NEET be scrapped.

Police foiled an attempt by the Student Federation of India activists from “meditating” at the Marina beach memorial of Amma, sparking off questions from activists as to how common people were being denied permission to pray at the memorial of Jayalalithaa, the same spot where the chief minister and deputy chief minister and cabinet colleagues could congregate.

In fact, police forcibly removed students from Marina beach where security has been beefed up to prevent a congregation like the one witnessed during Jallukattu stir. But what the police has failed to prevent is the outpouring of protests all over Tamil Nadu, at every available spot where school and college students are coming out expressing their support to the movement called Justice for Anitha.

On Wednesday, the students announced they would meditate at Jayalalithaa memorial, to invoke her memory and how she stood firm against NEET. In fact, when Jayalalithaa was alive, the same NDA government at the Centre did everything to allow exemption to NEET. Jayalalithaa had forcefully argued against NE
