Kochi: Leading High Court lawyer CP Udayabhanu has moved an application seeking anticipatory bail in the real estate agent Rajiv murder case.

Udayabhanu moved the plea through advocate Raman Pillai. This is in the wake of police getting information about the alleged involvement of the lawyer in the case. After the questioning of the six accused, the police had collected enough evidence against him, police sources said.

Initially, the accused refused to say anything against the lawyer. But when police produced telephone conversation between them, they got trapped, sources added.

The police have visuals of the lawyer visiting Rajiv’s house at Chalakkudy in Thrissur district several times, the sources said.

The body of Rajiv was found in a house in Chalakkudy the other day. Rajiv is said to have alerted the police earlier about threat to his life.
