Kerala to give Govt. jobs to kin of cyclone victims

The all-party meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday decided to provide jobs to the kin of those who died in Cyclone Ockhi. The jobs will be provided in the Fisheries department without looking into criteria. Fisheries Minister Mercykutty Amma will make an announcement in this regard. The meeting also decided to grant Rs. 2000 (every week) on a temporary basis to the families of the persons who died in the disaster. While adults will get Rs. 60 everyday, a child will get Rs. 45. The Government will also ask the Centre to announce a package to deal with the disaster. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami thanked his Kerala counter part for rescuing number of Tamil fishermen from rough seas. He commended the district administration for efficiently providing support to the fishermen.
