HC asks actor Amala to appear before CB in vehicle registration case

Kochi: Kerala High Court directed popular South Indian actor Amala Paul to appear before the crime branch before January 15in connection with alleged irregularity in vehicle registration in Puducherry.

She has been asked to appear between 10 am and 1 pm.

The anticipatory bail filed by the actor would be considered by the court later.

The motor vehicles department had found that the actor had registered her luxury car under a fake address in November in Puducherry.

The case against her wais that she had furnished an address which was not genuine and that she had deprived the State a tax amount of Rs 20 lakh.

Actors Suresh Gopi, MP, of BJP and Fahadh Faasil are also trapped in similar cases.
