“Industries in the State are in a coma stage and in very bad condition, like the Government,” DMK Treasurer, M.K. Stalin said today.

Replying to a specific question on the situation of industry, on the sidelines of an interaction with the representatives of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) here, Stalin told reporters that the industries were in bad shape, particularly due toinadequate power.

It was ridiculous that nearly 10,000 industrial units in Coimbatore were closed, when the State Industries Minister himself was hailing from this industrial hub, he said.

Stating that the recently held Global Investors Meet (GIM) was just an eyewash to fool the people, the former Deputy Chief Minister said that there was no significant benefit from this.

When asked what DMK would offer for the benefit of Industries, if it returned to power, Stalin said, “every thing what the Party did during its earlier regime”.

To another question regarding what would be the first signature of DMK Government, Stalin said: “we will announce immediately after coming to power”.

On criticism by MDMK General Secretary Vaiko about DMK and its leadership, he said that he was not bothered about it and will not take it seriously.

Earlier, addressing the MSME representatives, who had given several petitions, particularly on power problem, Stalin assured that he would redress all the grievances faced by the industries.

Stating that he would take efforts to increase the subsidy on bank loans from the present three per cent to eight per cent, he said that the people had already decided to have a change of Government in Tamil Nadu.

There would be a corruption-free government if DMK came to power, Stalin said, admitting that the Party had erred in many ways, including through Party secretaries, workers or ministers, and assured that this would not be repeated in the future.
