Newly married police constable commits suicide

A police constable, attached to the Fourth Battalion of the Tamil Nadu State Police at Kovaipudur had reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison in his quarters.
The constable, Selvaraj, was a native of Andipatti in Theni district. The door of his quarters remained closed for a long time. When colleagues came to check, they noticed that he was lying in his room. They immediately rushed him to the Government Hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Selvaraj had got married only about 45 days ago and had left his wife behind at his native place. Police are investigating the reason for his suicide.
