KOTTAYAM: Heavy rains continued to lash the State, with Idukki, Wayanad and Kottayam being the worst affected.

All educational institutions, except professional colleges, will remain closed in Idukki district, Kanjirapally, Meenachil and Kottayam taluks on Tuesday.

The administration has urged people residing near river banks to stay vigilant as most of the dams were full and opened anytime.

While a four-storey under construction building collapsed at Adimali near Munnnar, several electric posts were severely damaged. Boating has been suspended in Thekkady.
