In a video posted on Facebook, the actress condemned the firing on the protesters and said she felt ashamed wearing the khakhi uniform and would have gone to meet the families of the victims who were killed in the firing if she was not busy with her commitment (at the spot).

Police also launched a manhunt to nab Nilani.

On a specific information that she was staying in her relative’s house in Wellington, Vadapalani reached the house and took her into custody and produced before the Judicial Magistrate Soundararajan. Nilani is being taken to Chennai to be produced before Saidapet Court.
